Terms of Service
These terms govern access to Chesswire, including public posts, live discussion, puzzles, and private or open Pubs.
Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026
Using Chesswire
You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these terms. You are responsible for your account, activity, and keeping your sign-in method secure. Do not share authentication links, codes, or credentials.
You may not use Chesswire where doing so is unlawful, interfere with the service, scrape it in a way that harms availability, bypass access controls, or use automated accounts without written permission.
Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Chesswire a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, promote, secure, and improve the service. This license ends when content is deleted, except for cached copies, backups, content shared by others, and records retained for safety or legal reasons.
You must have the right to post what you submit. Do not post private information, copyrighted material, or other content you are not permitted to share.
Community and moderation
You agree to follow the Community Guidelines. Chesswire may limit reach, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or permanently remove accounts when reasonably necessary to protect people, comply with law, or preserve the service.
Moderation decisions can be appealed through the process described on the Support page. We may preserve relevant records while a report or appeal is reviewed.
Pubs and third-party services
Pub owners manage membership and content within their Pubs. Ownership can be transferred to another active member. Deleting a Pub removes it from access and revokes outstanding invitations.
Chesswire links to or interoperates with third-party services, including WorkOS, Lichess, and Chess.com. Their services and content are governed by their own terms. Chesswire is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services unless explicitly stated.
Service availability and disclaimers
Chesswire is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Live broadcast data, engine evaluations, puzzles, user analysis, and community posts may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. They are for discussion and entertainment, not professional advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chesswire disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from use of the service.
Changes and contact
We may update the service or these terms. Material changes will be announced through the service or another reasonable channel before they take effect when required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@chesswire.app.
